The Mining and Minerals Regulatory Authority (MMRA) on Friday, 1st August 2025, held a Sensitization and Consultative Meeting with District Commissioners from all districts in the Northern Region at Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel.

The meeting aimed to deepen understanding of the Mines and Minerals Act No. 25 of 2023 and strengthen coordination between MMRA and local government in promoting responsible mineral development.

This session follows similar engagements in the Southern and Central regions. MMRA will continue these consultative meetings as part of its ongoing efforts to support effective implementation of the new Act nationwide.
